It can be difficult to see whether you're making progress, whether you're making songs better or worse, but part of what we've done with this record is record sort of in bursts of 2 weeks and make sure we have a few days off in-between, which kind of gives you a freshness when you come back to those songs. We'll work on a song for a day, or maybe 2 or 3 songs a day, and then just kind of put them away and then come back to them - make sure that we don't get too stagnant on a song... or if we're just not feeling it, there's nothing wrong with just saying "Well, sod it - let's just leave that for a bit and come back to it".So you can record, for example, with the vocals... Tom can, if he's feeling energetic, he can record one of the really very hard work songs, and if he's feeling tired y'know, he doesn't have to... or he can record a song that needs that sort of atmosphere.I think we have a chance here to really just do exactly what we feel like doing at whatever time we feel like doing it - we have our own studio and we're in charge, so I think that helps us a lot
