I think it has changed again y'know and it's exciting... it's nice to feel that we're not just churning them out. There's a sort-of "default mode" that my voice has which I can easily switch to if I want to be lazy, but with this record I think we've really gone for trying to eek out every little bit of emotion and fun and surprise that we can from the vocals - and even if that means taking something that's out-of-tune or a little bit out-of-timeor whatever, if it's got the soul and its got the excitement that's the key thing. So we've spent a lot of time just trying to go through all the vocals that we have (I did do quite a lot of singing!) and just try and find those bits where there's just something magic that you can't quite put your finger on, but can just lift a song. I mean, I think I really believe that a great vocal can lift a song to a different place -I know for certain that a few of the songs that's been the case and I hope that for all of the songs really, that's been the case.

Hay cierto "modo de defecto" que mi voz tiene, la cual puedo fácilmente cambiar si quiero ser flojo, pero con esta grabación creo que estamos realmente idos por tratar de obtener cada pequeño pedazo de emoción y diversión y sorpresa que podemos de los vocales- e incluso si eso significa tomar algo que está fuera de melodía o un pequeño pedazo de tiempo fuera o lo que sea, si tiene el alma y si tiene la emoción, ese es el punto fundamental. Así que hemos gastado un montón de tiempo tratando sólo de ir a través de todos los vocales que tenemos (¡yo sí realicé más o menos un montón de canto!) y sólo tratar y encontrar esos pedazos, donde hay sólo algo mágico de lo que no te puedes informar, pero que puede solamente levantar una canción. Lo que quiero decir es que creo realmente que un gran vocal puede levantar una canción a un lugar diferente- Yo sé sin duda que para pocas de las canciones ese ha sido el caso y espero realmente que para todas las demás, ese haya sido el caso.
